Light upon Darkness

Heard a song today... thought I'd take a stab at a little poetry for today's post. Yes it has a little darkness in it... it's poetry... and most poetry is dark. So don't go crazy in assumptions. Thanks.

Light upon Darkness

You were there when the Christmas lights fell and a child pedaled miles in the dark night.
You were there when the lights flashed through window panes and a wife weeped against a love she thought was true.
You were there when the mother cried over a bonnet of crimson blue and a child was left to you.

You were there when we need the dark to give way to the Light.

You were there when a couple vowed to one another and the organ sang a heavenly tune.
You were there when a child was born and there were coos of joy.
You were there when the father embraced his son and the son embraced him back.

You were there when the Light made way for all but the dark.
