Well Devlin's 1st Birthday is coming up...and I decided on two things for his birthday... a bath boat from the Ren Fest (Shakopee MN) which came in the mail yesterday AND his first aquarium. Yes, I bought my almost 1 year old a fish tank. Granted, he's not responsible for it, the cleaning, feeding, etc.--his parents...or "I" am responsible for it. Am I complaining? Heck no, I'm actually super excited. I use to have a fish tank all the time as a kid. We had guppies (which multiplied in the millions), gold fish (one eaten by the darn cat), neon fish, and who knows what else. I just remember enjoying the fish as a kid and wanted Devlin to have the same experience. I got the idea really from our trips to the zoo. He just loved the aquarium exhibits... he loved trying to "touch" the fish. Most of all, Devlin loves water. Everytime we go to the Mall of America and walk by the fountains on the third floor, we have to stop. Devlin has to look into the water, giggle, and even try to touch the water as it falls off the fountain shelves. Everytime we try to leave he just cries...
The aquarium we got is really an aquarium, not a fish tank. It's a whopper at 47 gallons. We decided for now to just get some white and some black mollies. They are easy to take care of and a lot of fun too.
We'll see how that all goes as Devlin's birthday is about a month away!
